What is discipleship?

Faith is a personal encounter with Jesus Christ making, of oneself, a disciple of him. To be a Christian disciple means growing in friendship with him. This demands a permanent commitment to think like him, to judge like him, and to live as he lived.

A lifelong practice

We never stop growing as disciples of Jesus Christ. That's why at Stella Maris we're offering opportunities for all ages, from early childhood through adulthood.

Children

Our offerings for children are designed to create rich opportunities for them to be met by God at each stage of their development, and engage parents in their role as the primary teachers of their children.

Youth

Our offerings for youth are designed to foster their continued growth and development as they begin to require other adult role models in the faith (in addition to their parents) and take increased responsibility for their lives.

Adults

Our offerings for adults are designed to facilitate the renewal of the mind described by St. Paul–“be transformed by the renewal of your mind”–which enables the adult Christian to naturally radiate Christ in their spheres of influence.

Families

Our offerings for families are designed to help parents and children live together in rich intimacy with God at home as well as at church.

In our modern culture, it’s easy to feel busy but unfulfilled, stimulated but disconnected, and wonder what we’re missing. The answer is not more technology, more possessions, or more achievements. It’s following Christ, in community.
